Kierra Johnson
Biography
Johnson began her career in reproductive-justice organizing and served as Executive Director of Unite for Reproductive & Gender Equity (URGE), where she focused on youth leadership, reproductive rights, and movement building. She joined the National LGBTQ Task Force in 2018 as Deputy Executive Director after previously serving on its board and National Action Council.
In 2021, Johnson became Executive Director of the National LGBTQ Task Force. She is recognized as a national advocate on LGBTQ+ and reproductive-justice issues and has testified before the U.S. House of Representatives. She currently serves as President of the National LGBTQ Task Force and is based in Washington, D.C.
Johnson has described herself as a bisexual Black woman, a bisexual/pansexual woman, and a queer Southern mother. Her leadership connects LGBTQ+ liberation with reproductive justice, racial equity, youth leadership, and broader social-justice movements.
