Biography

Alyssa Thomas is an American professional basketball player whose combination of scoring, rebounding, passing, and defense has made her one of the most versatile players in WNBA history. After a standout collegiate career at the University of Maryland, she was selected fourth overall in the 2014 WNBA Draft by the New York Liberty before being traded to the Connecticut Sun, where she established herself as the franchise's all-time leader in multiple statistical categories, including assists, rebounds, and triple-doubles. In 2025, she joined the Phoenix Mercury.


Thomas has earned multiple All-WNBA and All-Defensive Team selections while setting the WNBA career record for triple-doubles and establishing herself as one of the league's premier playmakers. She also helped Team USA capture the gold medal in women's basketball at the 2024 Olympic Games, further cementing her place among the sport's elite competitors.
